Charged with Grandeur

"The world is charged with the grandeur of God."

Sun's light broke through gold leaf

I walked through the cathedral of God.

Now

At my computer

Window's blinds pulled high

The woods explode in gold.

Late afternoon's light settles

behind the hill

casting shadows. The dark lies

gentle across the boughs.

Leaves stroked by whispered light

Shine bright.

I think about the glowing hands of Abba Joseph.  I think about the "10 lamps of fire" extended up toward heaven.

I think about the burning bush.

The word "sacrament" comes to mind.

That moment, that "place", where Creator and created interpenetrate.

The bread-Body of Christ.

The wine-Blood of Jesus.

The motled members of Messiah.

+++

Abba Joseph lifts hands;

He lifts them rough and calloused;

The glory of God shines through.

Shekinah.

Outward sign of inward grace.

Suggesturing the possible:

"Interpenetrate."

"I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one even as you and I are one: I in them and you in me." -

God in Me and

Me in them and

Them in Them

in Us in Them.

All flame.

The leaves outside my window

Fall into shadows

Charged with the glory of God.

I am bathed in sacrament.
